2 successful national industrial networking trade shows in the “make”

Prototyping Xpo, the networking trade show for designing and prototyping industrial components and products, and MNE (Machineering Network Event) are combining their concepts, strengths and knowledge for the first time at Prototyping + MNE 2020 in Kortrijk Xpo. The two networking trade shows, both specialising in manufacturing technology, welcomed 2,500 and 2,800 visitors respectively during their latest editions. And now, they are about to make a quantum leap together in the spring of 2020, which will be a pivotal year, as it will mark the first milestone of the 4th Industrial Revolution, according to Industry 4.0's strategic plan.

The 84 exhibitors of Prototyping Xpo and the 150 exhibitors of MNE will undoubtedly be delighted with this fantastic opportunity. This combination of 2 established trade shows will indeed become the place to be for many interested C-levels and department heads from engineering, production, maintenance, quality control, assembly and supply chain. The synergy is clear: more exhibitors, more products, more visitors, plus an outstanding programme of side events at the trade show ‘for engineering and manufacturing from A to Z’.

A strategic place and time

On 5 and 6 February 2020, Kortrijk Xpo will host the crossroads of technology and ideas for designing, testing, manufacturing and assembling industrial parts and components for the manufacturing sector, industrial subcontracting and mechanical engineering. Everything will take place under one roof, that of Hall 4 and the Rambla, with the support of a number of strategic content and media partners. This location is most certainly a key factor in the success of the event. After all, Kortrijk is the epicentre of the design region and is centrally located on the industrial axis encompassing countless SMEs and well-established names in the fields of manufacturing technology and mechanical engineering. In addition, Kortrijk has a growing concentration of colleges, start-ups and knowledge centres for materials and production technology.

The strategic choice for two afternoons and evenings in early February, shortly after the busy New Year's celebrations and long enough before other Western European industrial fairs, is no coincidence either.

The trade show floor plan and the various stand formulas will make this strategic thinking exercise concrete in an original way. Again, for every type of exhibitor, budget or activity: ‘the best of both worlds’.

Closing the circle from designing to making from A to Z

Digital manufacturing, mass customisation, as well as flexible and automated production have become standard as time to market is getting shorter and shorter. Departments such as engineering, R&D, production, assembly or maintenance are thus being forced to break away from silo thinking and act as one communicating horizontal organisation in the face of ever-changing market conditions, low stocks and limited series production for ever more demanding industrial customers. Industrial subcontractors do not only make more, but also help customers in their thinking and designing processes. Prototyping + MNE 2020 closes the circle for both visitors and exhibitors: “advanced prototyping + industrial production from A - Z”.
